TfW say they are introducing new timetables across the network from Sunday 16 May 2021.
The only change known to us on the Crewe – Shrewsbury line is the provision of southbound weekday and Saturday morning stops. The 08.31 from Manchester will now call at Nantwich 09.17, Whitchurch 09.28 and Wem 09.37. This is very welcome. We have been asking for this for sometime.
TfW say also there will be some re-timings and amendments to services in particular affecting services in the north of our network.
This is their list of significant changes, none of which apply to us:
- Cancellation of the 0336 Chester to Manchester Airport and 0535 Manchester Airport – Chester
- Retiming of evening services on the Wrexham – Bidston line with earlier departure times
- 1234 Wrexham General – Bidston and 1335 Bidston – Wrexham General services will be replaced by rail replacement bus service on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
- Service reduction between Llandudno Junction and Llandudno.
- Rail replacement bus between Machynlleth and Shrewsbury until 27 June with some retiming of connecting train services on the Cambrian line
- Cancellation of 1134 Holyhead to Shrewsbury until 28 June
They suggest to check your journey plans before you travel especially any connections as timetables are changing across the whole of the UK national rail network. See this link.
