New rail timetable will be in place from 12 December

From Sunday 12 December, a new rail timetable will be in place across the TfW Wales and Borders network.

While the times of many services will be unaffected, customers should still ensure they double check their departure, arrival and connection times.

You can read about it here.

As usual with TfW they say nothing about our particular services between Crewe and Shrewsbury, and we have to check the timetables ourselves. We have asked TfW for the detail but they have not responded. Useless of course.

But as far as we know there are no major changes. The one thing we have seen is the two late trains from Manchester to Shrewsbury (all station stoppers) are reinstated. So you can get back late.

These are the weekday times, but the same principle applies on Saturday and Sunday but the times are a little different.

Piccadilly 21:35 Crewe 22:13
Piccadilly 22:34 Crewe 23:14
Both continue to Shrewsbury, run Monday to Friday & Saturday at 21.33 & 22.35 and haven’t run beyond Crewe since the first covid timetable reduction in March-20.
If you find other changes, please tell us so that we can share.
